Intercession April 4 2021

Almighty God, as we gather here on this Easter Sunday, we thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ into the world, to bring light into our darkness.  We pray for forgiveness of our sins, as we know that for our sakes, he suffered and died on the cross on at Cavalry. Gracious God, we thank you that today your Son has risen from the dead. Alleluia.

Holy Lord, we remember your teaching before your death.  We thank you that you gave us the good news so that we could be saved.  We pray that we will put your Word into practice and keep your commandments, as we live our lives with faith, hope and love.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Jesus, you walked among your people before you ascended into heaven.  We pray that we will be like your disciples, who started to take on the role that you left behind.  We pray that we will be caring towards each other and that we will support those in need. Lord let us teach those who do not yet know how to pray, so that they can put their trust in you every day.  Lord we pray that you will send your angels to watch over them, as they develop their Christian faith.

Lord, in your mercy hear our prayer.

Lord we pray for peace in our community, in the country and all other the world.  We pray that we will be able to handle our disagreements calmly and sensibly, instead of reacting angrily and committing offences.

Lord, in your mercy hear our prayer.

Holy Lord, we pray for families everywhere. We pray that children and young people, who are coping with frequent changes in their lives, will be able to have sociable times outdoors during this holiday.  We pray for teachers, support assistants and all those who ensure that schools run as smoothly as possible, during these strained and strange times.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Eternal God, we pray for those countries that are experiencing the third wave of coronavirus.  We pray that they will do what is necessary both medically and socially, to help to reduce the numbers of people affected.

We pray for those who are anxious at this time, and are worried about coping with their new circumstances. We remember those who are unwell, and pray that they will soon be strong enough to return to their usual way of life. We pray for those who have died, and their family and friends who are grieving.

Lord, in your mercy hear our prayer.

Gracious God, we thank you that as we continue to celebrate the Easter feast, our hearts are full of joy.   We pray that we will remain positive today and always.

Merciful Father, accept these prayers, for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
