Herewith a final reminder of our seasonal highlights. Christmas is a great time for invitation so do think of friends, family, neighbours and colleagues who might like to join you at:

SUNDAY 22ND DECEMBER 
4pm Community Carols – at St Michael’s
The choir are working on some glorious seasonal pieces to set alongside familiar congregational carols and the traditional nine lessons which will be read by groups that meet in the Parish Centre and Memorial Hall. NB – this whole-parish celebration replaces the regular 6pm service at St Mary’s.

TUESDAY 24TH DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS EVE
4pm Crib Service – at St Michael’s
A simple and boisterous service ideal for younger children: please come dressed as a character from the story – shepherd, angel, donkey, star…
11.30pm Midnight Mass – at St Michael’s
Seasonal wonder and hearty singing to draw us deeper into the mystery of the Nativity.

WEDNESDAY 25TH DECEMBER: CHRISTMAS DAY
9.30am Communion and Carols – at St Michael’s
11.30am Communion and Carols – at St Mary’s
Festive celebrations for all ages

Usual Sunday services will be running on Sundays 29th December and 5thJanuary: 8am and 9.30am (St Michael’s); 6pm (St Mary’s) but NB there will be no weekday services at St Michael’s until January 6th.

SUNDAY 5TH JANUARY: EPIPHANY
6pm Christmas to Epiphany’ – at St Mary’s
This service is a new version of St Mary’s Epiphany Carols which have proved so popular in the last two years. With music led by St Michael’s choir the service will be structured around the lesser festivals that populate the Twelve Days of Christmas. Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen, etc…
