Pattern Of Worship

Sundays at St.Michael, St.Albans
8.00 am. - Holy Communion, Common Worship Order Two service in traditional
language (said).
9.30 am. - Parish Communion, Common Worship Order One in contemporary language with
sermon; hymns accompanied by organ and choir and post communion anthem. Baptisms on the first Sunday of the month if
required. Contemporary hymns from ‘Come and Praise' and ‘New Worship Songs' are used alongside traditional favourites from ‘Hymns
Ancient and Modern - New Standard’. Junior Church groups for children meet at 9.30 a.m during school term time and normally join the
service before the Communion.
11.00 am. - Morning Service, On the second Sunday of the month - Matins, the traditional service from the Book of Common
Prayer. Service with sermon, hymns and psalms and anthem accompanied by organ and choir.
6.30 p.m. - Evensong, The
traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer with sermon, hymns
and psalms accompanied by organ (and on the third Sunday of the month
with choir and anthem).
Wednesdays at St.Michael, St.Albans
9.00 a.m. - School service (during St.Michael's School academic terms)
10.00 a.m. - Holy Communion, Common Worship Order One service in
traditional language (said).
Sundays at St.Mary, Childwick Green
6.00 p.m. - Evensong, On most Sundays Evensong, the traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer with sermon, hymns and psalms accompanied by organ. On the first Sunday of the month when there is a service of Holy Communon, Common Worship Order One in traditional language.
